Jorge was very helpful pushing Neva around different places. Neva had a great time at the Japanese restaraunt in Anchorage looking at the fish and making friends with the wait staff.

Uncle visits!

Jorge was happy to see the baby and Diesel, and they were happy to see him. We even had some sunny weather for the quick weekend visit.

Life is Good

Neva has been such a good baby, we are so lucky. Her mother was able to attend a three-day conference in Anchorage last week. Neva did beautifully with Sue, the baby sitter, and Carlos was able to get one of those days off. Carlos also spent the day with Neva yesterday as Shelly went to collaborate with the speech-path who will be substituting for her for the first quarter of the school year. And, to never let us doubt how big she is getting, she slept through the night Monday night!

Right now Shelly is so greatful she doesn't have to go back to work full time for another 9 weeks, and Carlos and Shelly are both excited for Neva's uncle Kiks to visit next weekend! Neva is excited to be holding her head up longer and longer each day!

Last month of summer

We are enjoying this, the last month of summer, and trying to ignore the signs that summer is coming to a close.

Neva is growing bigger and stronger. She is holding her head up better and longer everday. Size 2 diapers already! Sleeping (and pooping) less during the day and more at night. She loves visiting with her Auntie Kit and her soft blue puppy slippers fit perfectly.

Two months old

Neva got her 2 month immunizations and her well baby check up today. She is 23 1/2 inches long and 12 lbs 12 oz!! It was hard on mom to see her scream in pain, but overall she did great and we are watching her close for any signs of a bad reaction.

We are still constantly getting comments that she is so beautiful. We are very proud of her.

I found her the other day asleep sucking her thumb! We haven't gotten her to do it since. One-arm-up seems to be her preferred sleeping position.

Also, we went up the Butte this morning as a family. Neva has yet to open her eyes at the top.

Neva and friends

Helen, a long time friend from Tok visited with Freja, her grandbaby who is 8 weeks older than Neva. She brought Neva a fancy dress and the girls posed together.

Also, for those of you who got to see Neva in the swing a month or so ago - look at how big she is now! And she is looking up at what there is to see above her head!

6 weeks old

Neva is 6 weeks old. As she is growing daily, we are trying to beat the heat here in Palmer! It has been 80 degrees all week and it is a challenge to keep her cool. We spend most afternoons in the basement as the sun bakes our upstairs. When she is not naked these days, she is wearing 3 month size onesies!

Fourth of July was Neva’s first time being babysat. Carlos and I went to a wedding in Anchorage and friends in Anchorage were thrilled to watch her. It was a success and I won’t be as nervous next time!

Carlos went on a 24 hour Dip Netting trip and brought home a load of Red Salmon from the Kasilof Monday evening. He is getting better at filleting! I am looking forward to eating it.
