Ten months old

She has discovered how to empty her little toy box.

And a better picture of the little haircut.

Raining in Alaska today...

First haircut

The standing ones capture her favorite thing to do this week. Then we had a bath and cut the front of her hair, where it has constantly been in her eyes, while she was asleep.
The top picture is supposed to show her new haircut. It looks pretty good, actually!

Limerick for St. Patty's Day

There was a young family in the Butte

The daughter they had was so cute

She smiled all day long
Growing up tall and strong
Just more sweet than the nectar of fruit

End of spring break

Dad wanted a picture of me in the Carhart bibs. Neva and I have been reading in the sun as spring break's end marks the very first hints of actual spring.

Spring Break

Carlos and I got to spend four days together with our baby this week. A little cold, snow, dentist, or taxes couldn't discourage us from enjoying our time together. We bought a new carseat for the baby as she is too tall for the infant carrier carseat. Carlos ordered a new pair of polarized perscription sunglasses- so as we nurse our sore snow-shoveling muscles, thoughts are on spying summertime salmon as they swim up stream.
Neva is so much fun as she strives to be more independent all the time. We got to take some good video this week, so that is coming soon. She is eating lots of real food, taking long afternoon naps, and still waking up happy in the mornings that welcome the sun as it returns to the frozen north.

Some new skills

Neva is 9 months now and she has mastered waving Hi and Bye. She vocalizes and waves for "hi". And she has really been serious about splashing in the bathtub. Next video will be of her standing up, she would really rather stand up than mess around on her tummy. She is starting to act frustrated that she can't move when she's sitting on the floor so locomotion may be soon.
