Fun with papa

Carlos and Neva wrestle lions and play piano but not before their 9:15am nap. She is Five months old now, and it feels like she's turning from a little baby into a little girl. She may grow into Grandma Ouida's description of her: precocious. The new schedule is working well, but dad and baby miss mom, and mom misses them. The baby sitter says all her friends are jealous because she gets to watch our baby. No snow yet! We will post pictures of Neva's first snow, stay tuned.

Just good pictures

Hello, this is Carlos. Today was the second day that Neva and I got to stay home together. It's already been an interesting time without Mom to keep us both in line. Neva and Shelly have had a bit of a head cold and it turns out the reason it's been painful for me to walk is because of

gout. Neva makes the day go by fast, but i can already feel my heart breaking because one day soon she won't need me. So I'm going to bug the heck out of her now until that day comes!

More Minnesota pics...

These are some of the pics we couldn't leave out. Please note the picture of the four generations of women who spend less than two minutes on their hair!

Here we go!

Neva isn't scared of horses or great-grandmas. She spent all of last week in Minneapolis with "gran-gran" Ouida, Grandma Arlys, Grandma Jan, Grandpa Russ and more family as her mom attended a conference. She did wonderfully on the plane, and impressed all her grandparents without fail. Then, promptly upon returning home, showed her dad and mom that she was strong and coordinated enough to roll over from her belly to her back!

Today was the first day Carlos was home taking care of Neva and mom went back to work. All went well despite both girls having a little bug.
More photos of the MN visit to come... stay tuned.

Horizon

Neva has been blissfully grabing things and putting them in her mouth and has no idea the changes ahead. Monday, her and I fly all day, arriving in Minneapolis around 8pm, central time. She will spend some quality time with my mom and my grandma Ouida in the Bloomington Hotel Sharaton while I attend a conference Tuesday-Saturday. The following Monday, I start back working full time.
Though I have found plenty to worry over in these coming days, I am excited that things are working out as well as we could ever hope. I'm thrilled to introduce my daughter to her place as a 4th living generation of capeable, independent women and spend time with my grandma who I haven't seen since 2005. I am also so looking forward to seeing Carlos be a full-time Dad Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays of my work week. Neva will only have to be at the in-home daycare Thursdays and Fridays starting Oct. 22 as Carlos has adjusted his work schedule to Thursday through Saturday only. I feel so blessed to be able to feel as comfortable as I can going back full time and leaving my baby girl in willing and able hands.
